Does Joba Chamberlain Or Phil Hughes Has a better chance at…..?

At being a successful starting pitcher and successful relief/closer. No arrogant or insolent statements please!

Answer:
I would like to see Hughes get another chance as a starter. He’s shown good stuff. He was on his way to a no-hitter as a rookie before he got hurt in the 6th inning. We now know he can be a great reliever, so he’s got that to fall back on. Joba has proven by now that he’s on OK starter (sometimes great, sometimes terrible, sometimes average), but he’s among the best relievers in the game, even counting closers. If it weren’t for the fact that Mo isn’t going anywhere anytime soon (he had among the better seasons of his long career this year), Joba would be in waiting to be the next Yankee closer. He may be one day, Mo will be around as long as he can, but even Nolan Ryan retired eventually and Joba is just getting started. Unless they make a change in the off-season, the Yanks have 2 sure-fire starters: CC and AJ. Then there are questions about Andy, Wang, Hughes, Joba, and Kennedy. Andy will be back, but there’s no guarantee he’ll do as well next year as he did this year. Wang hasn’t been the same since he got hurt, we’ll see how he does. He had among the best starts to a career ever before that, but you never know. All three members of Generation Tre (I hate that name, but that’s what Joba, Hughes, and Kennedy have been jointly called) have been iffy. Kennedy had a great inning back from surgery, hopefully he’ll be up early next year. I don’t think he’ll be in the majors to start the season, but he’ll probably be the first starter called up. I wouldn’t be too surprised to see a deal in the off-season, possibly a deal for Halliday, including top prospects Cervelli (he’s great, but we have a better catcher behind him) and Kennedy (I like Kennedy, but I’m not sure his pitching style fits the small stadium).

Just this one more time…then I’ll stop asking such ridiculous questions?

It is front page (sports) news in today’s Hindustan Times: Muhammed Ali Shah, the Hon. Minister of sports, Pakistan has accused BCCI of bribing Tauffel to favour N Zealand. The accusation is not by a cricket section user but from a Federal Minister!!!!. My q to the Minister and his cronies is, If the BCCI is so powerful they can influence an umpire of the status of Taufel, wouldn’t it have been easier to bribe the umpires of the match against Pakistan??. Could you please clarify why India didn’t do that? Pakistan would have been out and India would have advanced to SF along Aus. Please don’t take this as ‘crying’. I’m just curious. Sorry folks, I’m just pissed off. Edit: A TU to you too, Jiggley….. How innovative!

Answer:
firstly, i am completely sick and friggin tired of hearing about this non sense! secondly, you make a damn good point!! if the BCCI was gonna bribe the umpires, shouldnt they have do it in the match that India was playing Pakistan! this makes next to no sense to me hence why from this point til these allegations are proven, i shall doubt them and refuse to believe them

The Metrodome lives on! How many more games will it host?

The ‘Dome gets at least one in the Division Series, maybe two. If the Twins advance, they get at least two home games, as many as three against the Angels or four against Boston. And if they make it to the Series, they again get at least two, maybe three or four. So, anywhere from one to ten. What’s your guess?

Answer:
I say 9. And of course, I want the Twins to win the WS.
